We here at Bachelorette Vegas have one goal in mind – to ensure that your stay in Vegas is an enjoyable and exciting one. We want to provide you with house of entertainment, but we know that budgeting can get in the way. So, you may ask, how can you skimp on your daily entertainment without boring yourself to tears so that you’re still well funded for the big party later on? As it would seem, you’re in luck! What most people don’t know is that Vegas has an answer for everything and, on top of providing plenty of paid entertainment, also gives you many free attractions to choose from.
We’re not talking simple roadside tourist traps, either – though the famed “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign is definitely in that same vein. We’re talking full on entertainment. Things you can talk about, discuss, take pictures, and build a scrap book around.
Caesar’s Forum Shops
Seems a bit hypocritical of us to give you a list of free things to do and top it off with an underground mall, but there’s a method to our madness. The forum shops may be home to a slew of high end retailers, but it is also the home of some rather gorgeous architecture, picturesque statues, and even a little show featuring an all animatronic cast. As you walk the shops, you will find yourself within a clever little tourist trap aimed at draining its visitors; but if you can push the urge to shop to the back of your mind, you’ll be surprised by how much time you can really waste just by walking this extensive shopping mall. It is a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes!
Sirens of TI
Every casino in Vegas has a theme, so don’t be surprised when you come across two massive pirate ships sitting right in front of the Treasure Island property. These vessels aren’t just photo opportunities or massive decorations, though. Nightly, the feuding ships bring life to the Sirens of Treasure Island, an entertaining mini-production performed right off of Las Vegas Blvd.
The majestic white vessel plays host to a crew of sexy sirens who are visited by a darker, more sinister ship that carries a band of pirates. After a bout of West Side Story-style feuding, the show erupts into exciting bursts of canon fire. The climax is entertaining and you may even walk away with a few new tunes in mind and a couple of dance moves to try on your guy.
Flamingo Garden
When you’re in the middle of the desert, you don’t expect to see lavish greenery and exotic wildlife at any point; but your expectations rarely meet what Vegas often delivers. Within the confines of the Flamingo Hotel is an exhibit that features an array of beautiful scenery that houses – you guessed it – real, live flamingos.
While there is not much to do in this area, save for soak in your surroundings, watching these majestic birds is a treat all in its own. Even being within the hotel in a large courtyard, you can kick back, relax, and simply forget that you are in the midst of a very busy city. It’s serene. Peaceful, The perfect place to hang out before your crazy night on the town.
Fountains of Bellagio
We know what you’re thinking – How is this NOT the top spot on this list? The Fountains of Bellagio are world renown, they’ve been featured in movies like Ocean’s Eleven, and they’re nothing short of a Vegas icon; but depending on the choice of music being played, they can also tend to be a little drab. If you’re not into Celine Dion, chances are you’re going to find yourself twiddling your thumb through a good portion of the fountains’ performances.
Ignoring the music, though, these fountains are a sight to behold. The water is pushed out with such force that it easily towers over you and the rest of the crowd. You also don’t need to stand right beside the small lake outside the Bellagio to experience this attraction. If you’re at the Paris’ Eiffel Tower experience or Chateau nightclub, you will be treated to some magnificent views of these entertaining water fountains.
Mirage Volcano
Rhythmic drums, scolding bursts of flames, and spewing “lava” give this Strip-side attraction a flair that is perfect for Sin City. As you walk by the large rock formation, you may mistake it as being some really intricate landscaping. It fits the Mirage’s tropical theme and is a good piece to have adorning your front lawn. Cross this rock formation’s path at the right time, though, and you will be treated to one of the hottest (and we mean that literally) attractions on the Strip.
As tribal drums pound out a menacing beat, the volcano erupts, spewing forth fire from numerous crevicesand spouts set within the body of water that houses it. Standing there and watching the attraction, you will feel the real heat from these bursts of flames and you may even find yourself mentally dragged into tropical escape.
The Mirage volcano encompasses everything that Vegas stands for. The peacefulness before the eruption, the erratic spewing of scolding water, the ambitious design that truly pays off in the end – everything is just so Las Vegas.
It’s good to save money, especially if you’re looking to party on the Strip. We recommend you really take a look at these five options and use at least one (if not all) of them to help you save a buck or two. You are going to want to save your money for when you’re booking your night out on the town with us!
